Okay, only one in particular.
Mrs. Doodlepunk, I need you to please email me. Either A)leave a comment somewhere on this blog or any of the other ones with yours or B) PM me on the boards. Or C) get it from either DLB or Nancy.
I have switched my thyroid meds and feel worse then ever and need a bit of guidance. Im trying to get blood work to find out what my T4, T3, and reverse T3 are. The pharmacist thinks Im making reverse which would explain why I feel so awful, but I need help understanding whats up.
I dont want to put my email here for bots come on here and its been told that they scan posts for addresses.

Sweetie, I can't help you but I am sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.
DLB sent me a message so I'm responding here - hope this works.
I'll try to put everything down here that I know about RT3. I am really REALLY busy these days and am not on the internet any more at all. I don't have the time to help you and really couldn't anyhow. I already told you everything I know about thyroid!
I gave you all the information I have on thyroid in the one really long PM on the board. I didn't go into reverse T3 because I don't understand it well myself, but the people on the NTH (natural thyroid hormone) lists on yahoo know it inside out and backwards. They helped me figure my situation out and they can help you too. If you haven't already got on those lists, do it now! The gal who started Stop The Thyroid Madness, Janie, started those lists and they are the best source I know of. There is one for adrenals, I think it is NTH adrenals. Get on that one too because you sure as shootin have stressed adrenals too.
The only thing I know about reverse T3 is that you need to be on Cytomel - which is pure T3 - to get rid of it. It comes from being on synthetic T4, or too much T4, or from stressed adrenals, which you have from just being low thyroid in the first place - or a combo of the above. I had it and got over it and you can too.
Now go join those lists and give them your lab values along with the lab's "normals" so they know what they are looking at, and ask for help!
If your doctor won't draw for FREE t3 and t4 and reverse T3, then you might have to pay out of pocket for someone. That is what I did. Cashed in a life insurance policy, would have mortgaged our house if I had to. It was worth it. It takes time to get better but don't give up.
Oh, and I took supplements for a while too. Like medicine. I needed to be on iodine, like 50 mg a day. Didn't like it, but it got me better. I looked at it as medicine, it worked, now I'm just on good food (and my dessicated thyroid of course) and feel great.
Now go get on those yahoo lists. Right. Now.
Mrs. D
Thanks Mrs. D. Without getting into to much detail, which is why I wanted email, how long did it take you to "transition" from synthetic to NTH? I was taking 150 mcg of the brand sinthroid then started taking 90mg of NTH. I went from feeling like a normal tired slightly chilly person to feeling as if I was taking nothing. I started taking my body temp and it was not over 97.2 (only once) and stayed around 96.1, even if I had the house at 78 degrees with fire. I was also moody, depressed, volitile, hair falling out, muscle spasms/tingling/cramping, feet/toes so cold they burned, utter exhaustion and a couple others things I wont mention here. After re-reading through your PM's for the 4th time, I found where you said most people need about 120mgs, I was at 90, and that you take 180. So I doubled my dose (I cant take half cause its a capsule). After 8 days of feeling like above (from the very first dose/day) I decided I had to act. I took the first double dose on Sunday at 5am and forgot I did that. Until my hubby asked if I was feeling better cause I looked/acted better. I actually cleaned both bathrooms which were in serious neglect. While I was still cranky, I had better energy and while still quite cold, my feet didnt burn. Could be a coincidence, but today is the second day I did that and Im better than yesterday. I was desparate. I called the pharmacy 3 times after starting it and only one pharm was helpful, had me take temp said I may need more T3 and to have all those things tested. Another one, at the compounding pharm, said he didnt like compounding thyroid at all didnt think it was a good thing! Anyway, not sure when I should test now or what I should do.
Should I test taking the double dose then talk to my doctor or should I go back to the lower dose and see what happens? This seems all so forign to me. I just know I cant go back to feeling like I did. I really felt like I was going mad.
I miss seeing you around. If youre still blogging, I'd love an invite. Wish you were still on the boards, but I understand.
Thanks for your time and help. You have no idea <3
